Holland 4 was a Royal Navy submarine built by Vickers in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Laid down in 1902, she was launched on 23 May the same year and commissioned on 2 August 1903 after completing deep-sea trials in the Irish Sea.
In 1905, she became the only Holland-class submarine to be fitted with a conning tower. Stricken from service in 1912, she sank on 3 September but was later salvaged and used as a gunnery target on 17 October 1914.
