*British, Post-1952, Royal Hampshire Regiment Staybrite Cap Badge – Queen’s Crown, Dowler Birmingham*

A good original post-war British Army cap badge for the Royal Hampshire Regiment, made in bright anodised “Staybrite” metal and fitted with a rear slider. The badge shows the crowned laurel wreath with tiger and central Hampshire rose, with the scroll below reading ROYAL HAMPSHIRE.

The reverse is maker-marked DOWLER. BIRMINGHAM, a well-known Birmingham military badge manufacturer. The Queen’s Crown places this example after 1952, and the Staybrite/anodised construction is typical of later post-war issue rather than wartime brass.

Approx. Measurements – Width: 4.2 cm. Height: 4.9 cm.

History Note:
The Royal Hampshire Regiment traced its lineage to the old Hampshire Regiment, receiving the “Royal” title in 1946. The tiger emblem reflects historic service in India, while the Hampshire rose appears as the county device. This Queen’s Crown Staybrite badge is typical of the regiment’s post-1952 service dress and beret/cap insignia.
