*British issue Post War 1950’s L1A3 Bayonet and Scabbard*

This is a knife bayonet designed for the 7.62 mm FN-FAL rifle. The L1A3 bayonet was introduced in the late 1950s by the British military to address concerns about the protruding press stud on earlier L1A1 and L1A2 designs, which made the bayonet prone to dislodging. The L1A3 featured a flush press stud on the pommel. The blade includes deep fullers on both sides, aiding in easy withdrawal after being thrust into a target.

It has a 200 mm blade length, measuring 303 mm overall. The letters A33 are engraved on the very short ricasso. The scabbard is marked S286.

*Condition*
The blade is in excellent condition though no blueing remains, the blade is clean of nicks or pitting. The grip shows some signs of wear and tear but the identifying flush press stud is in good working order. The scabbard is in good condition and fits snugly. Please see photographs as art of the condition report.
