The British officers of the Grenadier Guards wear a bearskin as part of their ceremonial dress. The bearskins are made from the fur of Canadian black bears and weigh around 1.5 kg. They are worn by the guardsmen as a symbol of their regimental pride and heritage.

Very good condition. It is clear that this bearskin has been restored. The brass chin strap is well preserved. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
