*British, Diana Model Number 2 Gat Type Air Pistol, with smooth wooden grip, Dated August 1959*
‘Diana’ Model Number 2 Air Rifle made by Millard Bros, Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland. This air rifle is identical to the pre-war German Diana Mod 2 but was produced post-war, as evidenced by advertisements from 1956 and 1963. Stamped with “MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN,” it features the ‘Huntress’ trademark and the marking “DIANA MOD 2 MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN” on the top of the cylinder. The rifle has a smooth wooden stock attached to the action with two pins and is cocked by pushing the barrel inward. Black barrel. To load .177 caliber ammunition, a knurled knob is exposed at the back of the chamber, which is unscrewed for loading. When replaced, the knob's pin pushes the ammo into the firing position. The heel of the grip is date marked 8/59.
