Approximate Measurements: 23.8cm tall, 121.5cm base diameter

A wooden handled cast brass bell with A.R.P. engraved deeply into the rim. Complete with metal gong.

This is an original air raid warden’s bell. The ARP (Air Raid Precautions) were responsible for ringing the bell to inform people of an air raid. An ARP Warden’s main task was to try and protect these people during air raids, when enemy planes dropped bombs. They would also hand out gas masks and guide people to shelters.

Condition is very good, though some markings to top of wooden handle. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
