*British Army GS Mk6 Combat Helmet Cover, Woodland DPM Camouflage*
A genuine British Army General Service Mk6 combat helmet cover in woodland DPM camouflage, manufactured by Jeltek Weatherguard Ltd.
The cover is constructed from poly-cotton camouflage fabric and fitted with the characteristic elastic webbing lattice across the crown, designed to allow the attachment of scrim, foliage, or additional camouflage materials. The edges incorporate elastic loops and a drawstring hem allowing the cover to be secured around the rim of the helmet.
The NATO stock number identifies the item as British military issue equipment produced for use with the Mk6 composite combat helmet, introduced by the British Army in 1986 and widely used through the 1990s and early 2000s.
The cover also bears a hand-written marking likely representing a service number or equipment identification.
Approx. Measurements – Designed to fit British Mk6 combat helmet.
History Note:
The Mk6 helmet cover formed part of the British Army’s standard camouflage system introduced alongside the Kevlar Mk6 helmet in the late 1980s. Produced in the woodland DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) camouflage scheme, these covers were designed to reduce shine and allow soldiers to attach foliage or scrim to further break up the outline of the helmet in the field. Covers such as this were widely used during the Cold War’s final years and throughout British deployments of the 1990s and early 2000s.
*Condition*
The cover remains in good service used condition with light wear and minor fraying to the fabric edges and elastic webbing consistent with military use. The label remains clear and legible and the drawstring remains present. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
