*British, 1993, Royal Doulton Flambé Dragon HN 3552, Collectors Club Exclusive*

A striking Royal Doulton flambé figure titled Dragon (HN 3552), designed and modelled by Robert E. Tabbenor in 1993. Measuring approximately 14 cm tall by 14 cm wide, the dragon is captured in a poised and powerful stance with outstretched wings and coiled tail. The flambé glaze gives the piece its vivid molten red over deep black tones, creating an iridescent effect across the scales and wings.

The base is fully marked:
- Royal Doulton backstamp
-Dragon HN 3552
-Exclusively for Collectors Club
-Modelled by Robert E. Tabbenor
-Dated 1993

Historical Note:
Royal Doulton’s flambé glaze is one of the company’s most celebrated technical achievements, perfected in the early 20th century and revived for limited-edition collectors’ pieces later in the century. The glaze involves multiple firings at different temperatures to achieve its rich depth of colour, with each example being subtly unique.

The “Dragon” was produced exclusively for members of the Royal Doulton International Collectors Club in 1993, adding to its rarity. The work of sculptor Robert E. Tabbenor, who specialised in animal and fantasy-inspired forms, this figure stands out as one of the most desirable flambé models, appealing to both Doulton enthusiasts and collectors of mythological art.

*Condition*
The figure is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration detected. The glaze retains its high gloss and dramatic contrast, with only light base wear consistent with careful display. The base stamp is clear and fully legible. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
