*British, 1888 Pattern Lee Metford Bayonet, Mark 1 Type 11*

29.7cm blade, 41.9cm overall

Knife bayonet for use with the .303 caliber M1888 Lee-Metford and Long Lee-Enfield rifles used by Canadian and British soldiers in the Boer War.

This is a very practical fighting bayonet as it has a dagger blade and a very comfortable grip to hold. This is the Mark 1 Type 2 with its two brass pins central to the grip and the clean-out hole in the hilt.

*Condition*
Heavily rusted, press stud is not working and there are cracks to the grip but nonetheless an interesting piece of history for any collector. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
