This is an 1842 pattern British Socket Bayonet. It was designed to fit the muzzle-loading smoothbore muskets used by the British Army at the time, such as the Pattern 1842 Musket. The bayonet features a triangular blade with a flat back and three edges that converge to form a point. The bayonet measures approximately 50cm.
~Condition~
This bayonet is in great condition for its age and use. It has a heavy patina in-keeping with its age. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
