Constabulary short swords were standard issue in the 19th Century for members of the British land, river and dock police and also for prison wardens. This example was used by a West Sussex Constabulary and is marked to Parker Field & Sons, Holborn, London. The sword is complete with its original leather scabbard with brass furniture.

*Condition*

The sword and scabbard is in excellent condition with the release catch working well, the grip and wire are in very good original condition. This is as good as we have seen of these hangers. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
