~ Boxed Ultra Rare Meccano Gold Version WW2 Spitfire 62a Fundraising Pin ~
The piece was issued by Meccano in 1940 and 1941 to raise funds to buy a Spitfire. All sale proceeds went that way.
They were usually issued in red, green or blue but this is the much rarer gold version.
~ Condition ~
Both the Spitfire and box are in very good order.
~ Dimensions ~
The box is 5 cm (inches) square, the Spitfire has a 4 cm (1.5 inches) wingspan.
