These bookends are made of stone from the Houses of Parliament after an air raid in 1941. The left stone features an image of the portcullis, chains and crown as depicted on the 1p coin and the right stone shows a Tudor Rose - a national emblem of England. On the inside of the left stone, there is a sticker that reads the following: “This Stone came from the Houses of Parliament. Processed in England by London Stonecraft Ltd.”

The stones are in good condition with small marks on the front.
