This is a great example of a Belgian made Mauser made rifle for Israeli use. The top of the breach is marked with the Isreali crest 7.62 cal. The side of the breach is stamped "FAB.NAT D'ARMES de Guerre Herstal-Belgique and sn 576220. The safety carries the serial number 8626. The stock has the number 761 roughly carved into it. Nice quality leather sling. We estimate that this was made c.1949.

The bayonet and scabbard have matching serial numbers.

The rifle bolt action and safety work as intended by the manufacturer.

The rifle woodwork is in good condition given its age, free of cracks and splits but age related dents as expected for a rifle of this age.
The metalwork is nice and clean. It cocks and dry fires

The bayonet and scabbard are in good condition with minor dings and scrapes.
