*Belgian, WW1, Croix de Guerre, Bronze Medal with Original Ribbon*
An original Belgian First World War Croix de Guerre (War Cross), a well-known gallantry and mention-in-despatches decoration awarded for bravery, distinguished service, and acts of merit in the field during wartime.
This example is the classic bronze cross pattée form with crossed swords between the arms and a royal crown suspension. The obverse centre medallion displays the Belgian lion, while the reverse carries the royal monogram. It remains fitted with its original red ribbon with green vertical stripes, mounted to a simple pin bar.
Instituted in 1915 during the First World War, the Belgian Croix de Guerre was awarded to both Belgian and Allied servicemen for acts of courage and distinguished wartime service. It became one of the most recognisable Belgian military decorations of the Great War period and is highly sought after by collectors of WW1 medals and Allied decorations.

*Condition* Good original condition overall with honest age wear. The bronze finish shows surface wear and patination consistent with age, with some verdigris present in recessed areas. The ribbon shows fraying, age fading, and some light staining, with wear around the mounting folds. The pin fitting remains present to the reverse.
