~ Battle Of Waterloo Period French Heavy Dragoons Cavalry Sword ~

This large and rare battle of Waterloo period French Heavy Dragoons sword has a straight double full-length fullered Klingenthal blade. The guard is of brass with the flaming grenade emblem. The grip is of black fish skin and is wire-bound. The scabbard is of brass with inset black leather panels.

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images for the condition. The blade has developed a grey patina with no noticeable pitting and no nicks to the edge. The leather, wire-bound grip has shrunk with age which has exposed the wooden grip behind. The leather washer is original, also shrunk a little. The scabbard has numerous dents, but its leather is decent.

The sword is 110cm (43.75 inches) in total length with a 96cm (37.5 inches) blade.
