An original Glock 17 service pistol in 9×19mm, Austrian-made by Glock Ges.m.b.H. Matching serial NL19117 on slide, frame and barrel. Standard polymer-frame, striker-fired design with white-outline rear and dot front sights. Supplied with the correct 17-round “GLOCK AUSTRIA” magazine. Barrel length c. 4.5 in. (per certificate).
Markings: Slide: “GLOCK 17 AUSTRIA 9×19 NL19117.” Frame insert: “MADE IN AUSTRIA GLOCK Ges.m.b.H.” Barrel hood: “9×19 [Eagle] NPv BDR.”
Dating note (BDR = 2009) Austrian barrels carry a three-letter year code alongside the Vienna nitro proof Eagle/NPv. The code BDR is the Austrian proof-house year mark for 2009, placing this example as a Gen 3 (late production) pistol from that year.
Historical note Introduced in 1982, the Glock 17 was adopted by numerous military and law-enforcement agencies worldwide, becoming the archetype for modern service pistols. It was named “17” as Glock’s seventeenth patent. Lightweight, reliable and corrosion-resistant, it saw service with British armed police, the Austrian military, and NATO forces throughout the 1990s–2000s and became the archetype of modern service pistols.
