Allied Military Currency ("AMC") was a form of currency issued by the Allied powers during World War II, to be issued to troops entering liberated or newly occupied countries, as a form of currency control. It was the most extensive joint currency issue of the Second World War, and printed jointly by the Anglo-American powers. Notes were prepared in lire, francs, kroner, marks, schillings and yen for use in countries to be invaded or liberated. All the issues were similar in appearance, facilitating production.
