*Antique Walking Stick with Carved Terrier Dog Handle*
An antique walking stick featuring a charming carved Malacca handle in the form of a terrier’s head, realistically detailed with painted features and inset glass eyes. The shaft is of polished hardwood, fitted with a nickel silver collar stamped “Nickel Silver” and finished with a brass ferrule. The handle retains its original varnish with warm age patina.
Length: 90 cm
Historical Note: Terrier-handled sticks were popular in the late Victorian and Edwardian period, often favoured by sportsmen and country gentlemen. This is a fine example with attractive character.
*Condition* Good overall condition with expected surface wear from age and handling. Some rubbing and small marks to shaft, light wear to ferrule, and age-related fading to painted handle. Collar shows slight tarnish consistent with nickel silver. No structural issues noted. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
