This Kukri is an Ang Khola model, featuring a fullered blade with a prominent ridge running along its length. Known for its forward-heavy design, the Ang Khola is a powerful chopping blade, used in both villager and military versions. This particular example includes an ornate white metal band on the grip.

The Kukri is housed in a scabbard carrying the insignia of 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles. The mount is made of white metal and features intricate designs, including a Queen Alexandra cypher surmounted by a crown and crossed kukris. The scabbard itself is covered in a dark green velvet.

The 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles was a distinguished regiment of the British Indian Army, formed in 1815. The regiment participated in numerous conflicts, including the Siege of Delhi in 1857, the Third Afghan War, and both World Wars. During World War I, the 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles saw action on the Western Front and in the Middle East, including Palestine and Egypt. Western Front (France): In September 1915, elements of the 3rd Gurkha Rifles participated in actions near Loos, part of the Battle of Neuve Chapelle. The 3rd Battalion of the 3rd Gurkha Rifles was raised in Egypt in January 1917 and joined the 233rd Brigade. They took over a section of the defences near Rafa in Palestine in June 1917 before participating in the advance on Gaza in late October. After India's independence in 1947, the regiment continued to serve in the Indian Army as the 3rd Gorkha Rifles.
