An exceptional example, this sword is complete with it original wood and brown leather scabbard and frog.

It is quite rarely for a sword of this age to survive undamaged all this time.

The blade is etched with an intricate foliage and geometrical pattern bearing the Imperial Crown above the cypher, the Crown above the regimental mark and Wilkinson's "by appointment" and address on one side, and the Crown above the Royal shield, the cipher RDH, Wilkinson's trade mark and the proof star, on the other.

Serial number 36830 stamped on the blade indicates the making year as 1899.

The basket is made of chromed steel and the grip of brown painted chequered composite and steel wire.

The brown leather tassel is also present.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 35 inches (89 cm) long and the overall length of the sword in its scabbard is 42 ½ inches (108 cm).

~ Condition ~

The blade is excellent, free of any damage. Sam is the grip.

Minor traces of surface rust can e seen on the basket, but they can be easily cleaned.

The scabbard remains in excellent condition for its age, with minimal wear.

The frog is excellent with the expected amount of wear on the side belts.
