~ Alice Clementine Clarke (1872-1952) Watercolour Of Portsmouth Harbour ~
A lovely small watercolour of Portsmouth Harbour by the British artist Alice Clementine Clarke (1872-1952).
The painting shows a view of Portsmouth harbour as if looking west from Clarence pier, Southsea towards Old Portsmouth with HMS Victory to the centre.
HMS Victory was moved to a dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard in 1922 so this painting must pre-date that as it would not be visible from this angle after that date.
The painting is initialled by the artist to the bottom right hand corner.
The painting has a gold card mount with glazed gilt wood frame.
The back of the frame has a hand written note detailing the painting and artist.

The painting measures 20 cm (8 inches) by 8 cm (3 ¼ inches).
