~ A Late 18th/Early 19th Century French Flintlock Blunderbuss ~

It has a 2 stage stub twist barrel and is octagonal at the breech, it has a particularly attractive marbled pattern.

The lockplate is engraved Man. Royale und de Tulle

The stock is of walnut.

There is an acorn finial to the guard and a brass butt.

~ Dimensions ~

The metal work is very reasonable.

The lock cocks but does not release on the trigger - the sear spring will need adjusting.

The brass detailing is reasonable.

The blunderbuss measures 32 inches (80cm) long. The barrel is 16.75 inches (43cm) in length with a 4cm (1.6 inch) muzzle aperture.

~ Conditon ~

The woodwork is in need of restoration as the stock is cracked in two and shows significant signs of age. Please check the pictures.
