A 1918 Lee Enfield SMLE Mk111 Deactivated Rifle WW1

The Mk3 quickly proved to be the finest rifle of World War 1 and It also had double the magazine capacity of any other weapon of the period - when you had a battalion of Tommies where each man was trained to fire at least 30 aimed shots a minute, it is no wonder that many germans thought they were under machine gun fire. A British classic.

We also have in stock 1907 bayonets for this rifle, buy both and get a discount!

The best-known Lee–Enfield rifle, the SMLE Mk III, was introduced on 26 January 1907, along with a Pattern 1907 bayonet and featured a simplified rear sight arrangement and a fixed, rather than a bolt-head-mounted sliding, charger guide. The design of the handguards and the magazine were also improved and the chamber was adapted to fire the new Mk VII High Velocity spitzer .303 ammunition.

*Condition*

This is an excellent example in good condition considering the life it has had, there are the expected knocks and marks to the woodwork and no obvious pitting to the metalwork. The bolt operates but it does not cock and dry fire in line with current deactivation spec. The magazine can be removed.

This rifle still has its barrel cleaning kit stowed in the butt, and comes complete with sling.
