This is a nice example of a classical sword-stick cane with a German blade.

The silver scabbard ring is silver marked for “JR, Birmingham, Sterling, 1860, 780”.

The blade reads “Klingenthal” between a pair of proofmarks, on one side and the name of the manufacturer “Coulaux & Co.”, on the other.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 27 inches (69 cm) long and the overall length of the cane is 37 inches (94 cm).

It weighs 500 grams.

~ Condition ~

The woodwork remains in good condition with minor splints on the grip and nearby the silver ring.

The blade developed a patina.

The cane is slightly curved due to extensive usage.
