A lovely large, chunky ring of 9ct gold set with three large oval-cut rubies and six small round-cut white spinels.

The rubies are claw set in a row to the front of the ring with the spinels in groups of three set between.

The band is slim and plain.

The ring is hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham, 1970.

The central ruby measures 1.0 carats (8mm x 5mm).

The other two rubies measure 0.75 carats (6.5mm x 5mm) each.

The spinels measure 0.03 carats (2mm diameter) each.

The ring is a UK size Q which is a US size 8.25
