~ 9ct Gold & Enamel Yorkshire Regiment P.O.W. Own Sweetheart Brooch ~
This lovely quality 9ct gold bar brooch features a cross with entwined letter ‘A’ with crown atop and banner below with the legend ‘XIX ALEXANDRA POW OWN YORKS REGt’.
The crown and banner are enamelled; red to the crown, green to the banner.
The brooch has a pin clasp to the reverse with safety catch.
The brooch is marked ‘9ct Gold’.

The brooch is in a very nice pre-owned condition with only light wear but no damages.
~ West Yorkshire Regiment ~
The West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) (14th Foot) was an infantry regiment of the British Army. In 1958 it amalgamated with the East Yorkshire Regiment (15th Foot) to form the Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire. In 2006 this amalgamated with the Green Howards and the Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding) to form the Yorkshire Regiment (14th/15th, 19th and 33rd/76th Foot).
