~ 600 Year Old Koto Period Samurai Katana Sword ~

This most attractive sword has a fine undulating, gunome hamon with a good even tori zori curvature. It is rebound in Japanese blue silk ito and original Edo period iron fittings. There are traces of a gold inlaid stylized dragon on the fuchi and embossed flowers on the kashira. An iron sukashi tsuba with the outline of a traditional partial conch shell. It has a superb black lacquer says. The menuki under the hilt wrap are full relief prancing ponies.

The katana is 92cm (36 inches) in length with a 67cm (26.5 inches) blade.
