An exquisite silver bread basket made by the Pier van der Woude family in Sneek between 1898 and 1925. The piece has import marks for 'Boaz Moses Landeck, London, Sterling, 1968'.
On the reverse the original dutch marks can be seen.
Pier van der Woude or Firm P. van der Woude, registered in the city of Sneek, active 1898 - 1925. After his dead his widow continued to use his maker's mark. Pier Sytses van der Woude born in the city of Sneek in 1862. In 1898 gold and silversmith in Sneek. Successor of Jan Schijfsma. Died in 1917. The widow continued the business under the name Firma P. van der Woude. The firm continued to exist until 1925.

The basket is beautifully decorated with Garlands, Greek medallions and two medical Rods of Asclepius. This is an exceptional bread basket.

The piece is 25 cm long by 18 cm wide by 8 cm tall.
It weighs 450 grams.

~ Condition ~

The piece is in need of a minor of repair but its overall condition is very good. Please see the pictures.
