19th Century, Large Oak and Brass Ships Wheel with Red Boss and Tiller Handle

Approximate dimensions:
Wheel: 160cm diameter including spokes. Spokes measure approx 20cm. 8cm deep.
Red boss: 25cm diameter

A large 19th Century Ships Wheel. Varnished oak with central red painted iron boss/hub, flush brass ring and tiller handle. 8 spoke wheel with 2 spoke handles cut down. There is a lovely warm patina on this maritime relic.

Condition
Good used condition. Two spokes are cut down. The ends of one of the spokes appears to be missing a brass cap. Brass on the tiller handle burnished to silver in parts. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
