Here we have a finely carved 19th century Grand Tour mahogany library figure, carved as Dante Alighieri - the Italian writer and philosopher and author of the Divine comedy.

He stands on a circular base, wearing a wreath and holding a volume.

~ Condition ~

The piece is in excellent order, there is a nibble to the edge of the book. It is free from shrinkage cracks.

~ Dimensions ~

The figure is 50 cm (19.75 inches) tall. The base has a diameter of 16.5 cm (6.5 inches).
