A 19th century Chinese carved fluorite figure of Guanyin, from the Qing dynasty.

GUANYIN is the Bodhisattva of compassion and is one of the most central divinities in Buddhism. Bodhisattva is a person who is on the path to nirvana but delays doing so due to compassion for suffering beings. In the Buddhist Religion the Bodhisattva will eventually become a Buddha.

The fluorite figure sits on a carved hardwood stand.

The condition of the fluorite is very good with only natural stress cracks formed when the rock was taken from its natural surroundings in the Earth.

There are no repairs visible.
