~ A Pair Of 19th Century Italian Bronzed Pewter Relief Portrait Plaques 'Dante E Beatrice' & 'Raffaello E Fornarina' ~
A pair of bronzed pewter plaques, cast in relief, with portraits of the author Dante (Alighieri) and his muse Beatrice (Portinari) and of the artist Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino) and his mistress and model, Margarita Luti (La Fornarina, "the baker's daughter").
The plaques are inscribed to the bottom with their title and to the reverse with the initials ‘LP’. One also bears a moulded Florentine Lily.
Both have a hanging ring to the reverse.

Each plaque measures 5 ¼ inches (13.3cm) tall by 4 ¼ inches (10.5cm) wide. They weigh 234g and 209g.
~ Condition ~
The plaques are in fine condition with no dents and only minor wear. There is a little wear to the bronzing, most notably on Dante E Beatrice. Both have a small amount of verdigris.
