~ 1915 Dated WW1 The Buffs Regiment (Royal East Kent Regiment) Swagger Stick ~
The Buffs are one of the oldest English regiments, formed back in the late 17th century.
This regiment took part in all major military struggles of the country ever since.
In recent times the regiment is well known for its desert and French campaigns of the First World War. Corporal William Richard Cotter was awarded the VC whilst serving with the 6th (Service) Battalion.
In the Second World War, they took an active role in France, as part of the British Expeditionary Force and fought in the short but fierce Battle of Dunkirk and after was sent to fight in the North African Campaign.
Some battalions were also sent to Italy where they fought in the Sicilian Campaign, as part of the British Eighth Army.

The stick has a length of 73 cm (28 3/4 inches).

The silver top has some specific age ware but overall the piece is in good condition with no damage.
