~ 1901 Edward VII Coronation Bakelite Vesta Case ~

A lovely Bakelite vesta case made in celebration of the coronation of King Edward VII in 1901.

The vesta is in the form of a book with a relief portrait of Edward VII to the front and Edwards initials surrounded by the Latin phrase ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’ (shame on anyone who thinks evil of it) with floral decoration to the reverse.

Both ends of the vesta open for storing matches and there is a striker to one side.

The vesta measures 3.5cm by 5cm.

It weighs 11g

~ Condition ~

The vesta is in a nice condition with no damages and only very minimal age wear.
