This is a superb flintlock pistol decorated in the oriental style with intricate carving to the woodwork, silver wire inlay and silver & silver plated fittings.

The hexagonal barrel is decorated with gold standards and arms and bears a central cartouche.

The top of the grip is decorated with a large silver plate similar to a coat of arms.

All its silver fittings are decorated with embossed foliage.

The butt ends with a heavy silver pommel to balance the pistol.

A very fine piece.

~ Condition ~

The flintlock mechanism is in working order but the spring is weak. The mechanism seems to be without a half-cock position. Also, as it can be seen in the pictures it is fitted on the left side. This is most unusual for a flintlock weapon.

Considering its age the pistol is in very good condition.

The woodwork is excellent with almost no wear.

There is some amount of wear on the metalwork, and minor loss of silver plating.

The ramrod is stuck due to the age of the pistol and the top end is cracked and the metal end is loose.

~ Dimensions ~

The pistol measures 21 inches (53.4 cm) in length with a 13 ½ inches (34.4 cm) barrel.

The bore is .64 cal.

It weighs 1.25 Kg.
