~ 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword ~

The 1897 pattern infantry officers’ sword is a straight-bladed, three-quarter basket hilted sword that has been the regulation sword for officers of the line infantry of the British Army from 1897 to the present day.

The sword has a nicely etched blade with the cypher of King George V. It comes with its leather field scabbard and it has its leather sword knot.

The ricasso is etched "FLIGHTS LTD. LONDON CAMBERLEY ALDERSHOT" and the backstrap "MADE IN ENGLAND".

~ Dimensions ~

The sword length is 99 cm (38.5 inches) and the blade is 81 cm (32 inches) long.

The set weighs 0.99 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The sword is in excellent condition with a very clean blade. The grips are complete and still tightly bound. The guard has lost quite a bit of its chromed finish. The scabbard is in good order with tight stitching.
