~ 1889 Gouache And Watercolour Of Warrior Class Ship By Antonio De Simone ~
Antonio De Simone (1851-1907) was a Neapolitan/Italian School artist, well known for his depiction of Royal Navy vessels in the latter half of the 19th century.
This fine painting depicts a British 'Warrior Class' iron-clad steam/sail ship, bow-crossing another iron-clad sail ship in the Bay of Naples, with two boarding parties in tenders flying Royal Navy ensigns. It is signed and dated 'De Simone, 89'.
It is single line mounted, framed and acrylic glazed.
