~ 1862 Dated Enfield Snider Carbine ~

This is an excellent example of a rifled snider carbine in full working order.

The lockplate is stamped with Victoria's crown and 1862 Enfield.

Most of the metal parts bear inspector's marks and stamps. The loading breach is stamped BSA Co. and the chamber bears a II and double star mark.

The stock bears an Enfield arsenal Mark.

This is clearly one of the early percussion conversions.

The nipple protection chain and cap are present.

~ Dimensions ~

The barrel is 18 1/4 inches (86 cm) long and the overall length of the piece is 37 inches (94 cm).

~ Condition ~

The metalwork and woodwork are excellent.

The bore is clean and the rifling is excellent.

The pice half cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.
