A well executed, oil on board painting of a gentleman dating to the 17^th century.

The painting depicts a gentleman of the period with ruff and lace cuffs set in an oval cartouche on a brown ground.

The painting is not signed.

It is presented in a period wood frame.

~ Dimensions ~

The painting measures 30cm (11 ¾ inches) by 35cm (14 inches).

The frame measures 42.5cm (16 ¾ inches) by 48cm (19 inches).

It weighs 1.47 Kg

~ Condition ~

The board has slightly warped causing one corner to bend slightly, which has damaged the corner a little.

Another corner has a chip to it and there are a couple of light crack to the edges (see images).

The painting is in decent order for its age with just a mark to the nose.

There is a slight sheen to the image, mainly noticeable to the body of the man and really only an issue when in direct sunlight.

Overall the painting is in good order for its age.

The frame is in decent order.
