The coin was issued by the Romans between the years 109 BC or 108 BC when Q Lutatius Cerco was the republic's Quaestor.
The coin reverse refers to the victory of C. Lutatius Catalus at Aegate when commanding a fleet paid for by rich Romans, bringing the first Punic War to an end.
The Obverse depicts the helmeted head of Roma under the monogram "ROMA".
The Reverse depicts a galley under "Q-LVATI /Q", all within oak- wreath.

The diameter is 17mm and its weight is 3.5 grams.
