Uboat Commander Claus Korth’s Dress  Dagger with Hangers.
Kriegsmarine, Uboat Officers dress dagger named for Claus Korth, Knights Cross recipient. The double fullered blade etched with fouled anchors and sea creatures, the ricasso is maker marked by WKC of Solingen, the gilt brass hilt with Orange cellulose grip. In gilt Brass scabbard engraved “ C Korth, U-93” On a pair of Black nylon fabric hangers with gilt aluminium fittings, chains and buckles with dual Lions heads.
Korvettenkapitan Korth commissioned and commanded both U57 and U93 earning the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross hitting 16 ships and sinking 13 of them for a tonnage of 54,584. Claus survived the war and died in Kiel in 1988 at the age of 76.
This is in excellent condition probably due to the fact that Claus survived the war and kept it with him until his death.
This is a rare and unique item which we rarely get to see and probably will not see another one.
*Condition*
In excellent condition with only minor cracks to the top of the grip, some discolouration to clips and buckles caused by age, a well cared for item. Please see pictures as these form part of our report.
