This is a British Flintlock Coaching carbine from the late 1700s. The gun features an octagonal barrel that flares out very slightly towards the mouth, ramrod and original spring loaded bayonet (fully functional). The makers name is indecipherable but there is a wreath on the lock plate. Possibly a Mortimer or similar.  It has lovely decorative parts to the underside of the firearm including an acorn finial.

*Condition*

This weapon has a uniform patina which is to be expected on an item of this age and the frizzen spring is no longer functional. Overall, this is an excellent example of a British Flintlock and has been kept in great condition for over 200 years. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
