The Pattern 1907 bayonet was used by the British and Commonwealth forces throughout the First and Second World Wars and was inspired by a combination of foreign bayonet designs, including the American Model 1905 bayonet and the Japanese Type 30 bayonet. Trials with these designs resulted in the British Army adopting its own version of the Type 30 bayonet. This new design was designated Sword bayonet, pattern 1907 (Mark I).

*Condition*

This bayonet is in great condition for its age. The blade has a light, expected patina of a WW1 bayonet and the metal parts of the handle and scabbard are evenly pitted. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
