SKU: MLJA_944850197 Category:

This is a nice example of an early 19th century good quality percussion piece made by J. Cocker & Son, as can be seen stamped on the lockplate.

The piece comes with a walnut chequered grip with a trapdoor underneath, a foliage decorated lockplate and a dolphin shaped hammer.

The top of the grip is decorated with a silver cartouche and silver fittings on the muzzle end of the wooden stock and both sides of the retaining pin. The front sight is also of silver.

The wood and brass ramrod is original.

The piece half-cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.

~ Dimensions ~

The barrel is 8 inches (20.3 cm) long with an overall length of the pistol of 13 1/3 inches (33.5 cm).

It weighs 845 grams.

The calibre is .66

~ Condition ~

The metalwork remains in good condition for its age with a nice patina and some minor surface pitting on the barrel.

The trigger guard is also pitted.

The wooden frame has minimal wear.

A good example.
