SKU: JA_527938063 Category:

The blade is nicely decorated with etched foliage bearing the Oueen’s Crown above the fouled anchor one on side and the royal coat of arms on the other.

The ricasso is marked A.H Hancox of Commercial Road Landport. So a Portsmouth sword.

The brass basket also nears the Queen’s Crown above the anchor.

The grip has been repainted white back in the day suggesting that the sword was an NCO’s first and either the individual got promoted or the sword it changed hands. The officers have to have white grips rather than black for the NCO’s. Also the officer’s blade will be etched, which is the case here.

The sword comes with its tassel and black leather and brass fittings.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 33 inches (84 cm) long with an overall length of the sword of 38 ½ inches (98 cm).

The sword in its scabbard is 39 inches (99 cm) long.

~ Condition ~

The blade developed a patina and the brass elements lost some of their shine.

The tassel is quite worn.

The scabbard is excellent for it age.
