~ An English Bow Porcelain Figure Of A Putti Holding A Lamb, c.1760 ~

The figure stands on a raised base applied with flowers. The putti holds a flower in one hand and a lamb in the other hand. The figure is wearing a floral garland and chaplet. It is very finely painted in coloured glazes. Unmarked.

~ Bow ~

Bow figures originated around 1745. Thomas Frye and his silent partner, Edward Heylin, owned the patent. Their British factory made everyday, practical items, but will always be remembered for their porcelain figurines

~ Dimensions ~

The figure is 5.5 inches (14cm) tall by 2.5 inches (6.5cm) wide and the base diameter is approx. 2 inches (5cm). The total weight is 167 grams.

~ Condition ~

The condition of the figure is very decent. The figure does not have any restoration in evidence, only some small scratches and some chips to the flowers and leaves.
