~ c1900 Oval Oil On Porcelain Plaque Portrait Of A Lady By Bruno Geyer ~

A signed German oil on porcelain, miniature oval plaque depicting a lady from the Victorian era who is rather partial disrobed and has come hither eyes.

The reverse gives the subjects name but I cannot read it all...

La Marquesa ... ... Corros.

There is also a stamped MADE IN GERMANY circle.

A pencil note reads 'Artist signed on the edge GEYER', we have opened up the piece and can confirm its presence in the 9 O'clock position. This is for Bruno Geyer, the Austrian artist who was active late 19th – early 20th century and is well known for his cabinet plates.

Marquesa is the Spanish name for a marchioness.

This is rather a difficult piece to value as he is a scarce artist but his cabinet plates sell for $1000-$1500 plus commission at auction.

~ Dimensions ~

The piece has a height of 7 inches (17.75cm), a width of 6 inches (15.25cm) and a depth of 1.3 inches (3.25cm). It weighs 220g.

~ Condition ~

The portrait is in excellent condition. The frame has a chip on the lower edge.
