~ 8 Day Oak Cased Longcase Clock By Russell Marshall Circa 1830 ~

The clock has been professionally serviced and full restored, this included a full repaint of the dial which was in a neglected state to the original pattern. We would date this to the early nineteenth century.

The piece has a fine mid brown oak case.

The Roman numerals face is signed "R. Marshall, near Shotley Bridge" to the centre.

To the 12 o'clock position is a secondary face, which also uses Roman numerals, for the seconds hand.

The clock face is surrounded by depictions of flowers.

The arch top depicts a lake scene, with a small house, overlooking the lake with a church ruin to the other side.

It has a good proportioned long door with partial barley twist side column to either side. There are 3 turned finials atop.

The pendulum is decorated with a multicoloured floral pattern.

It strikes on the hour.

~ Dimensions ~

The clock has a height of 91 inches (228.5 cm/7.6 ft), a width of 16 inches (40.75cm) and a depth of 7 inches (17.75 cm). The clock face has a diameter of 12 inches (30.5cm).

~ Condition ~

The clock has recently been restored and is in an excellent condition. It keeps excellent time.
