~ 1956 Silver & Enamel Shipping Ladies Compact ~
A beautiful solid silver compact with a great hand-painted enamel lid.
The compact is of square form with the enamel to the top which is hand-painted with a very fine scene of a tug boat at sea. The reverse is decorated with
machine turned engraving.
The compact has the usual mirror and on the inside and has a hinged compartment for makeup.
The compact is hallmarked for Birmingham silver, 1956 with a makers mark of ‘T&S’. It is marked in two separate places.
It comes with a small felt bag.

The compact measures 6.5cm by 6.5cm.
It weighs 118g.
~ Condition ~
The compact is in very nice condition with only light wear from use. The enamelling is in excellent order.
